Goal: To establish Standard Operating Procedures for the Floating Hospital for Children Transport Team between the hours of 2300-0700. This SOP will highlight staffing and coverage updates and identify new roles and responsibilities affected by these updates. Including Vocera Communications Process, FHC Transport, NICU RN Transport and Eascare ALS availability and designation.
Effective May 11, 2020:
● FHC2 (P10) will be reduced to 16hr coverage (7) days a week. Transitioning from (0600-0600) to (0700-2300).
● FHC1 (P19) will remain in operation from (0600-0600).
● All Full-Time Team members will be assigned (1) 24hr shift on FHC1 (P19) and (1) 16hr shift on FHC2 (P10).
● FHC1 (P19) will be designated for Eascare ALS Transports pending Transport RN Staffing.
○ If No Transport RN is staffed FHC1 (P19) will be designated for NICU RN Transport and Eascare ALS between the hours of 2300-0700.
○ If Transport RN is staffed FHC1 will be designated to FHC Transport and Eascare ALS will be unavailable between the hours of 2300-0700.

● An email will be sent daily to Tufts MC FHC Transport Leadership identifying availability.
○ Transport RN: NO = Eascare ALS: Available
○ Transport RN: YES = Eascare ALS: Unavailable (2300-0700)
● Vocera Pediatric Notify will be updated accordingly
Vocera Pediatric Notify:
● If there are any discrepancies, Eascare Communications should respond to the thread with an update on Eascare ALS/BLS availability.
Operations:
● If FHC1 (P19) is assigned to a transport, Eascare will send a BLS Ambulance compatible with Isolette #2 to post at Tufts MC for NICU Standby.
■ Isolette #2: Manual, full-size, side mount Ferno Stretcher.
○ Expectation is to have an Eascare Ambulance available for additional NICU RN Transport within 15MIN of request
○ Crew will report to Tufts MC North 2 NICU upon call assignment
● FHC2 (P10) Shift change will begin at 22:30.
○ Crew to return to Brewster Weymouth HQ
○ Fuel and Wash Ambulance
○ Restock any used supply
