Purpose: To clarify the company’s position regarding dual employment at Brewster Ambulance Service and organizations with direct competing interests.
Policy: Outside employment with any direct competitor is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination. This policy applies to all full-time, part-time and per diem Brewster and EasCare Ambulance Service employees.
Procedure: Due to a possible conflict of interest situations, Brewster and EasCare Ambulance Service may restrict its employees from working for certain organizations that have been identified as maintaining an organizational or business plan that directly conflicts with the goals of Brewster and EasCare Ambulance Service.
If a team-member is identified as working for an organization listed as a conflicting organization, the employee will be given two weeks to leave the direct competitor. If the employee refuses to leave the direct competitor after the two-week period, the employee may be terminated from Brewster and EasCare Ambulance Service.
Whenever a new company is added to the company’s direct competitor list, a notification will be sent via company email system. Employees in that case will have thirty (30) days in which to leave the employment of the direct competitor.
Currently, the following organizations are considered direct competitors:

· American Medical Response (added 1/11/22)
· Coastal Medical Transportation (added 1/11/22)
o Fallon Ambulance Service
o LifeLine Ambulance Service
· Great Brook EMS (NH) (added 2/9/23)
· MMT and subsidiaries
o Access Ambulance Service
o MED Tech (RI)
